Motivation for Redesigning Crunchyroll
Driven by my passion for anime and frequent use of the Crunchyroll app, I recognized a stark contrast in user experience between the mobile and television platforms. The television interface appeared to be a mere extension of the mobile app, characterized by enlarged font sizes and suboptimal layout, prompting me to embark on a redesign initiative to enhance the viewing experience.

Market Research
Observations:
There has been a noticeable shift in viewing habits, with individuals dedicating increasing amounts of time to streaming content compared to traditional cable television. Recent data from Nielsen indicates that streaming services accounted for a record 34.8% of total television viewing time last month, surpassing both cable (34.4%) and traditional network television (21.6%).
The Issue:
Many TV applications, such as Crunchyroll, suffer from being essentially stretched-out versions of their mobile counterparts, resulting in a lack of user-friendliness and suboptimal viewing experiences.

Project Summary
Throughout this endeavor, I conducted a thorough market analysis and developed a deep understanding of my target personas. Additionally, I crafted a series of low-fidelity wireframes to conceptualize the user experience, which were then translated into high-fidelity, visually appealing UI designs.

During the design process, I gained a crucial understanding that aesthetics alone are insufficient; every design decision must be purposeful and aligned with user needs. Furthermore, I recognized that mobile app designs do not always seamlessly translate across various platforms, emphasizing the importance of platform-specific considerations. Ultimately, I learned the significance of designing with the user in mind, prioritizing their experience and ensuring that the product meets their needs without imposing unnecessary burdens.
